Keep Calm and Hangout

It might be really true that the responsibilities you have tend to increase as you grow older. I remember being asked to sleep at noon. The television set would be turned off and we would be asked to lie down at the mat in the sala (living room). I'd be faking it by lying down and getting up after an hour or two so that they'll thought I had enough siesta. How silly.

Now, everything turned backwards re my sleeping habits. Most of the time, I need to steal a time for sleep and it's not that healthy. My positive side, however, tells me to hold on since after a few months, approximately five, I'd me turning my tassel  I'm looking forward to a lot of sleep since I only have to work 8 hours at maximum. Victory at last.

So, this is me with my dear friend Jamaica. We've been friends ever since the orientation organized for First Years in Ateneo. Basically, we're college partners be it in crimes, in school works or even in hanging out? I really want to question the last thing I've said. I can't remember when was the last time we we're together and not talking about school stuff. We go to the mall to buy things we need for school and we go to coffee shops to work on our thesis. Can't we go to the mall just to eat or watch a movie? I sense we'll be doing that soon.

After a short modification on our thesis, we decided to take a break. Have fun and let our other dear friend Benj take these photos.

Now talk about taking advantage of my friends to take my picture. I'm sorry guys, I love you so much. This is another carefree look. My usual outfit when I'm in the mall - - jeans, top and flats :)

This post reminds me so much of YOLO. It applies to all of us guys.

Love lots,

Tested&Tasted: Comfort Drink

We all know that Filipinos are fond of drinking soda and coffee however milk teas are added to our options of refreshment and even a day starter. Every close friend knows I'd choose milk tea over any cup of coffee, juice, soda or even water (not kidding).

Unlike most of my friends, I was forced to love milk (fresh milk, powdered milk, sterilized, any kind of milk). I guess that explains why my teeth and bones are strong, seriously. For 17 years I have to drink milk twice a day because I was skinny back then. I stopped drinking when I was in 2nd year college, it's too expensive now that I'm the one who'll purchase it.

With regard to tea, my first knowledge about it is that it's beneficial for those who want to lose weight. My mom used to drink Kankura. When she found out that it's harmful for the colons, she stopped.

My first experience with tea wasn't that good. I never liked it. I feel like I'm having a drink which has grass sinkers (which is quite true) because it tastes like one.

Milk tea shops started to sprung like mushrooms and everybody, including me, wanted to give it a try. It failed me the first time. Some milk teas in Manila tastes odd for me because the tea's proportion is greater compared the milk in it.

Last year, my co-workers introduced me to a cafe that satisfied my taste and even exceeded my expectations on milk teas. Aside from losing weight (what I thought was it's the only thing it does), who would've thought that there are more benefits this tea can bring.

Tealoca is my favorite milk tea cafe. They serve a wide array of milk teas, fruit teas and milk deluxe which can be paired to a variety of delicious toppings. I'm in love with their egg pudding. The best in town or shall I say the best in the country? I've tried different milk teas from Manila and here in Davao and most of the time the concoction is just disappointing and their egg pudding tastes 'trying hard.' Haha.

I know the prices are a bit expensive but I assure you it's worth the price. If you love their products just like me, you can avail their loyaltea card. You will get a stamp every time you purchase a large drink and after the 10th stamp you get a free milk tea of your choice. That's cool. I've always been excited to get my free drink and I don't know if of how many times have I completed a loyalty card.
I

I've really gone loca with Tealoca and it'll be an all--time favorite, a study buddy, past time company and a comfort drink. The place would never fail to comfort you as well. Aside from these stools, they also have couches, sockets and a free wi-fi connection. Now, who wouldn't want to hang-out there and sip a refreshment? However, these amenities are only availabe in their Gaisano Mall branch, it's first branch. They recently opened another in Abreeza Ayala Mall which is quite convenient for those who are from the north.

OOTD: Ironic

It's past my bed time but let me leave my a quick outfit post for my nocturnal readers. Forgive me for the lack of decent photos (I'm talking about the quality). Everyone's been tired after the graduation ball and we just wanted to go home and rest.

Top: Hand-me-down
Shorts: Random Bazaar
Blazer: WAGW
Accessories:
Pink Wrap Around: Clarissa's Arm Candy
White Cuff: Tomliz Butingtings

The title refers to my lack of affection for the color Pink but look at what I wore. I purposely chose a spaghetti-strap and shorts because it's comfortable to wear especially when I need to move around a lot. Before being glammed, we went to the venue to arrange it (decorations, backdrop, photo wall and a whole lot more...) I'm referring to our graduation ball which I also posted here.

Another reason for wearing this is to not get a hard time in dressing up once I'm already done with the makeup and hairdo. Now, the blazer will do in toning down some bare skin.

Girls, don't hate me for not liking Pink. I've always loved Purple because it's not as feminine as the color Pink it may have rooted from my personality. Oh well, I have not much to say. I want to make up for all my backlogs. Stay tuned because I will be hosting another giveaway for the second monthsary of my blog :)

Goodnight guys :)

The Family I Never Had

Do you think that we attended a mass wedding? If yes, then theme achieved but we didn't. First, there's a big number of ladies compared to the gentlemen and another this is just our graduation/senior's  ball themed "Til Grad Do Us Part." A grand production for such an event don't you think?
Our batch (Mass Communication 2013) decided to make it an unforgettable night; the last event that will be organized by the class. But first let me not use the word classmates/batch-mates because it's an understatement considering all the things we've been to. These people is more of the family I never had. Though unrelated by blood, we have been brought together by time and experience.

I cannot speak for all of us regarding what happened that evening so here's a few pictures I want to share and show how I enjoyed that night.

These are my college buddies. I've been with them for 4 years now (...and still counting)

A picture with the gentlemen.

...and now with some of the beautiful ladies.

...with some of our teachers.

...with my very supportive and loving uyab (boyfriend)

Left: I'm with my best guy friend who welcomed his young adulthood at the night of our event.
Right: My simple self. Thanks to my very talented MUA (Mara Corsiga).

To the man at the right, our mentor, our friend, our father, our critic, our disciplinarian and our role model, Sir Rikki Enriquez, I am grateful for your efforts to mold us into better persons.

The night isn't just about photo ops. We had our fine dining, cotillion, games and a whole lot of reminiscing. As we graduate we don't turn our backs to each other but we face the new season of our lives.

*To all who will graduate on March of 2013, congratulations!*

Love lots,

OOTD: Cut-out and Jeggings

Have you ever had the feeling of being ignored just because of what you're wearing be it in malls, restaurants or even at hotels? Just a random thought. I've been comparing how the staff from different establishments treat a person based on what he or she wears and believe me it's quite unfair.

If we were only in the  United States perhaps we would  still be getting the proper treatment even with shabby clothes on.

Now, about my post which is the outfit I wore to the Ipanema Urban Jungle Fashion Show at Abreeza last week. I opted to go for the smart casual look by wearing a button-down polo with cut outs and my oh so comfortable jeggings.

The top gives you a sexy (because of the cut-outs) yet semi-corporate look depending on how you style it. The color really stood out as a lot of well-dressed people also attended the event. I chose the jeggings because it really do have the look of the jeans and the convenience of wearing leggings plus they look good together, don't they?

I had coffee before the show and the treatment is so overwhelming. It makes me want to wear this most of the time especially when I visit malls. However, I'm in my tee, shorts or jeans most of the time. I realize that people need to exert effort sometimes for them to earn that respect or treatment they want. Kabogin niyo ang staff ng mall, ewan ko lang kung 'di kayo bigyan ng special treatment.

Haha! But kidding aside, dress to impress. You don't know who or where you'll walk into. Moreover, dressing well also boosts your confidence so there's no need to wait for an occasion to do so.

Have a lovely Sunday evening :)

Ipanema Unleashes the Urban Jungle Fashion Show

I'm very much excited to share to you my dear readers an hour of unique fashion show or shall I say enchantment that I've witnessed. Animals come to life as they showcase Ipanema's new collection. Mind you, I've been to a lot of fashion shows but this one's an innovation. It's like I'm watching a theatrical performance slash  gymnastics slash fashion show. In short, the show amazed me :)

The show started with this jolly caterpillar entertaining us and giving away pairs of Ipanema slippers to the lovely audiences. There were also raffle winners who received a limited edition laptop case from Ipanema. It's so cute. Imagine how envious I am that time.

Before I introduce you to the funky and fierce animals in the jungle, I'll first show you the runway. It may look simple but the festive vibes of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is totally in the air.

Now we can proceed to the show. It's like a visual story and I hope you can enjoy it.

The Zebra is so poised as she showed the Ipanema slippers. It was a  very good start. If you think they just walked at the ramp, then you're wrong. I think they ruled the runway.

This Peacock is very beautiful.

The most jolly of them all - the Dolphins.

The Wolves gave me a scare. All of them are in character. They're more of an artist than a model for me. Of all their pictures from my camera, I chose this because I want to give you a glimpse of these Wolves in action. Imagine how comfortable those soles can be with the models having the need to move a lot.

Another in-action photo. I included this even if it seems a little awkward with the  Caterpillar there who looks as if he's peeking. *laughs* Oh just pay attention to how the Eagle soar. Davao's pride.

Can't help not putting more than one picture of her because the lighting is so perfect. It's also because I find her pretty, don't you think? :)

I think she's an Antelope. I love this inclining photo.

The Ostrich had a remarkable performance as well.

*hiss* Now for my favorite, Miss  Snake.

Her physique and flexibility really matches her character.
I really admired her performance.

"Rawr!" says the Queen of The Jungle. These two Lions grooved to the beat before all the other animals come to join them.

The finale

The event was a success. I thank  Ipanema for bringing this Majestic show to Davao. I know all the audience enjoyed this concept of introducing a new collection.

Now a picture with some of the Davao Bloggers :)) I enjoyed the night indeed.

Before I forget, I also thank them for giving us the loot bag:
2 pairs of slippers, beach towel and a notebook <3

So there, you might  want to visit Ipanema and have your own piece of Rio at your feet. Aside from Ipanema  stores, you can also purchase their slippers at Bambu.
