Food Blog: Tummy Tale

Boy, what a transition! I re-visited my food blog (Tummy Tale) and I realized that I've abandoned it for 3 months already *shocked face* It's as if it was left out when I left for Manila. It makes me miss the food trips in Davao and my food trip partner, too.

I've decided to revive it and I hope you can visit it real soon. I have a lot of back log posts and new ones as well. Davao may really be a god spot for food bloggers but I think I can take advantage of my stay here in Manila. I can also be a gateway blogger for the food industry here in Cavite. I wish that these plans may push through.

Mandarin Tea Garden Favorites

Western, Filipino, Italian, Korean, Japanese or Chinese cuisine? Name it and Davao has it. Rice toppings, noodles, DimSum, short orders, hot tea to cold beverages, assorted fruit salad to juices - - - Mandarin Tea Garden has it.

Chinese have influenced Filipinos in many ways most especially in the food we love to eat. Lumpiang Shanghai have been a staple food in Pinoy birthday celebrations all throughout the years.

Crispy Spring Rolls
My favorite appetizer. In fact, it can be my viand. You can't imagine how stuffed it is inside and that these 3-pc. rolls are worth every penny. In addition, it matches well with its sauce. In short, hindi pinilit. Rate: 5/5

Halo-Halo Lugaw
My boyfriend's favorite in Mandarin is their porridge (lugaw in Tagalog). What makes it special are the contents inside the soup plus the pinoy special style - - -egg. Don't you just love to have some porridge especially when the weather is cold. Yummy! :) Rate: 4/5

Pork Chop Rice Toppings
These are the food I do not miss ordering at Mandarin Tea Garden. They are budget-friendly and very satisfying because of its reasonable serving. Beef, chicken, pork or seafood? Choose a topping from many options laid down before you. I personally like beef ampalaya, pork asado and this pork chop. Rate: 4/5

Service Tea

Complimentary Soup

Another worthwhile dining experience down. If you wish to dine at Mandarin for lunch, make sure that you're quite early from other lunch grabbers. A lot of people really look forward to eat lunch at Mandarin so it can be a little crowded by noon time. Dinner is a much better time to visit the place though.

ParTea! ParTea!

I've had a ParTea! ParTea! earlier today with a new tea room opening at Jacinto St. to add with the several joints of options for milk tea lovers (including me) in Davao City.  Within 45 days, they were able to open 5 ParTea ParTea shops (4 of them are stalls located at Victoria Plaza, DMSF, Woodridge and one at Stella Maris Academy). Today, they opened in front of Ateneo (de Davao) campus and is now ready to serve us their delightful beverages.

Good news for SPCians, I heard they're planning to open a branch near your school. Back to my sharing, I got early for this event. There was a blessing ceremony, ribbon-cutting, snack and the moment we've all been waiting for - - - wanting to taste a new concoction/proportion of milk teas.

Even though they lack time in preparation, it doesn't really hinder the opening (as well as their products).  Take for example the cashier/front desk picture above this text, I find it really difficult to read the products from the menu board because the font size is a bit too small. I'm glad they said they would replace this.

Anyways, congratulations to ParTea ParTea for I know it'll be a hit to a lot of students from ADDU.

The place is not that cozy compared to coffee shops but it's air-conditioned and has a clean rest room. It's something that the nearby food corners doesn't have. I love it and I've just spotted a new place where I can have my daily dose of milk tea.

Above photos are what Jonas and Algene had: Pudding milk tea and Chocolate flavored milk tea, respectively.

Wintermelon was what I chose for myself. This is the most saleable flavor in almost all milk tea shops and this new recipe is a must try for me.

There are milk teas I do not wish to repurchase and this is not one of them. It's a little bit coarse but I think I like this proportion of milk and tea even though it may be a little too sweet for some. Their pearls are good, too. My boyfriend and I used to categorize pearls as: nanlalaban and di-nanlalaban. This one is under the first and thumbs up for that.

I also liked that their wintermelon has a mousse; it's something others don't offer. My verdict for this flavor is 4/5.

To wrap up the story, me and my Davao Blogger friends are thankful for the invites to this opening. Moreover, we had a wonderful conversation, of course, over our cup of delicious milk teas. Happy tummies. Indeed, tea has never been so much fun! :)

Please Help Me Welcome. . .

Oh! I'm Giddy and excited. I decided to create another blog and it's niche is - - - FOOD :) It feels great to know I've decided on where to focus and what exactly do I want to write about. I've had such a good time when it comes to food events, I eat six times a day, I want to try all food houses in the country and I want to blog all my experiences so that basically puts me in that category.

I hope you guys find time to visit:

All my foodventures and food porn experiences will now be posted to this blog ^^,

Tummy Tale's Birth

January 23rd of the year 2013 marks the birth of my food blog: Tummy Tale

I am more happy with this compared to my personal blog for I initiated the latter out of
jealousy and boredom. This time I must say that I really am ready for the commitment I
must offer to this blog. Moreover, I love food so what's not to share, right?

I may not welcome you with an Italian cream puff, Japanese sukiyaki or a Chinese noodles but instead I have these junk foods posted before your eyes. I must confess that as much as I want
to live  a very healthy lifestyle, I cannot take junk foods out of my diet.

They're cheap, delicious and convenient in times of chismisan and drinking session with your
friends. In addition, I enjoy these  when I study, when I can't sleep or even when I'm just
watching the television.  Here's to junk food junkies out there :")))
